As a result, EMS mistriages up to 70% of stroke cases, patients lose over two hours in the ER before treatment begins, and critical changes in the ICU often go undetected between scans taken 12–24 hours apart. In a condition where every second counts, these delays lead to preventable brain damage, disability, and death.
